Set Up Appraisals
Depending on your organization, you may have several different employee appraisal plan or employee review intervals that are applied on an annual basis. On the Appraisal page, you can define all the employment review stages that are used within your organization and the sequence of these stages. Depending on the type of position, the appraisal due dates can be calculated based on a due date or hours worked.
After the appraisal codes are created, assign the codes to HR positions to link employees to their appraisal plans and generate the appraisal records automatically.
After the codes are attached to an employee, the codes are used to record employment reviews that are completed as well as track upcoming reviews to ensure employees receive their appraisals on time.
After an appraisal is completed, the next appraisal record is automatically created through the periodic activity.
Note
Note:
The periodic activity is triggered automatically by the payroll posting process. The process only needs to be run manually when you are not using payroll posting.
To create an appraisal
Choose , enter appraisals, and then choose the related link.
The Appraisals page opens.

In Description, specify a description for the code.
No. of Positions is automatically populated and specifies the positions that require this particular appraisal interval. The value for the No. of Positions field is determined based on the values that are set on the HR Position Card page, in the First Appraisal Code field when positions are set up for your organization.
In Next Appraisal Code, specify the review interval that is to follow this appraisal.
For example, the employee may start with a 3 month review, then go to a 6 month review, and then revert to an annual review each time after that. This sequence can be managed by setting the Next Appraisal Code on each of the records.
In Due Date Calculation, specify the date formula for the elapsed time for the appraisal.
If the appraisal period is to be calculated based on hours worked, leave this field blank.
In Due Hrs. Threshold, specify the number of hours that are required to reach this appraisal.
When this number is reached by the employees linked to this appraisal, you receive a notification indicating the employees that require a review.
In Due from Employment Date, specify the number of days from an employee’s start date that the review must be performed.
