Absence resequencing
You can set up Sparkrock 365 to resequence previously approved future-dated absence requests. The resequencing occurs when there is a change to the requested absences or a change to scheduling. For more information about how to set up absence resequencing, see Set up absence resequencing.
An absence request can be created to take place sooner on the calendar than another previously approved and processed absence request. This scenario is more common when employees are required to register absence requests well in advance of the desired absence periods. In such a case, the new request and all absence requests with later calendar dates than the new request are reprocessed, so that the requests use up attendance balances in chronological order, and that negative balances are not created for attendance plan lines where negative balances are not allowed. For more information about preventing attendance plan lines that have negative balances, see Prevent negative balances on attendance plan lines.
Sparkrock 365 automatically updates attendance balances when processing approved absences that occurred in the past or on today's date. By contrast, absence resequencing looks at absences that occur in the future. Any absence that has already been registered or processed by payroll is ignored by this process.
If you use sequencing, when you enter a future dated absence request, the sequencing is calculated at that time. If you enter another absence request in the future, but with a date before the first request, the sequencing is triggered again, but with balances after they have been consumed by the first request. The resequencing is based on the dates on the requests.
