Dates on the Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan (OTIP) Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Export File
In the export, the Date of Hire for an employee is the same as the Benefit Eligibility Date on the related Employee Benefits page provided that the date is greater than the Employment Date on the Employee Card page. Otherwise, the Employment Date value is included in the export.
If Employment Date is blank for an employee, the active employee assignment Assignment Start Date is used.
The OTIP Effective Date fields, including Work Status Effective Date, Salary Effective Date, and FTE Effective Date, are populated from the Calculation Start Date of the currently active employee assignment for the employee when a change is detected.

If you require different Effective Date fields for changes to Benefit Volume and Benefit FTE, it is recommended that you use an HR request with the process type of details change to track changes in value to those fields. If a change is detected in one of those fields from the last time data was sent for the employee, based on the archive, the Calculation Start Date is sent as the new Effective Date, depending on which field changed.
