Cost of Living Adjustments
Sparkrock 365 includes functionality to help you manage cost of living adjustments.
To create an HR request for a cost of living adjustment
Choose , enter hr requests, and then choose the related link.
The HR Requests page opens.
On the action bar, choose New.
The HR Request page opens.
On the General FastTab, perform the following steps:
- In HR Reason Code, specify the code that represents a cost of living adjustment.
The No. field is automatically populated. - In Effective Date, specify the date on which the cost of living adjustment is to go into effect.
- In Employee No., specify the employee number that corresponds to this HR Request.
- Specify values for other fields as required.
- In HR Reason Code, specify the code that represents a cost of living adjustment.
On the action bar, choose Home > Details.
The HR Request-Details Change page opens.
In HR Emp. Assignment Entry No., select the employee’s active assignment for which you are making a cost of living adjustment.
Specify values for other fields as required.
On the Payroll FastTab, perform the following steps:
- To update the employee's pay, specify values in Pay Grid Code, Pay Grade, or Pay Step.
Which field you use depends on the employee's Pay Type of Hourly or Salary. For example, if you are giving a cost of living increase to an hourly employee you increase their Pay Step. If you are giving a cost of living increase to a salaried employee, you may move them to a new Pay Grade or Pay Grid Code. - Specify values for other fields as required.
- To update the employee's pay, specify values in Pay Grid Code, Pay Grade, or Pay Step.
Choose Close.
You are returned to the HR Request page.
Process the HR request.
