Terminate Employees
Sparkrock 365 includes functionality to help you manage the termination of employees.
To terminate employees
Choose , enter hr requests, and then choose the related link.
The HR Requests page opens.
On the action bar, choose New.
The HR Request page opens.
On the General FastTab, perform the following steps:
- In HR Reason Code, specify a code that represents one of the following scenarios:
- Termination
- Teacher Termination
- In Effective Date, specify the employee's last day.
- In Employee No., specify the employee number that corresponds to this HR Request.
- Specify values for other fields as required.
- In HR Reason Code, specify a code that represents one of the following scenarios:
On the action bar, choose Home > Details.
The HR Request-Termination page opens.
On the General FastTab, perform the following steps:
- In Termination Date, specify the date on which the employee is to be terminated.
- In Calculation End Date, specify the end date that Sparkrock 365 is to use for calculations.
For example, the end date that Sparkrock 365 is to use for an assignment. - (Optional) If your local legislation allows employees to enter time after their termination date, in Hours Entry End Date, specify the date after which the employee is no longer eligible to perform time entry.
The Hours Entry End Date field is only visible in the following scenarios:- On the Time Entry Setup page, Hours Entry End Date on Assignments is turned on.
- On the HR Employee Assignment Card page, Hours Entry End Date Enabled on Assignment is turned on.
- In Termination Status, specify whether the employee is eligible to be rehired.
- In Voluntarily/Involuntarily, specify whether the employee is leaving voluntarily.
- In Grounds for Termination Code, specify the code that represents the reason for ending the assignment.
This field is used to populate the Service Canada reasons on a grounds for termination. - In Assignment End Reason Code, specify the code that represents the reason why the assignment is ending.
- (Optional) If you are replacing this employee, in Replacement Employee No., specify the number that represents the replacement employee.
- Specify values for other fields as required.
Choose Close.
You are returned to the HR Request page.
Process the HR request.
Grounds for Termination Code for US customers
For United States customers, when processing termination HR requests, the Grounds for Termination Code field can be optional.
To have the Grounds for Termination Code field be optional, on the Application Area Setup page, Basic CA must be turned off, and Basic US must be turned on.
When on the Application Area Setup page, Basic CA is turned off, and Basic US is turned on, and then you process all steps for a termination HR request, Sparkrock 365 automatically populates the Grounds for Termination Code field with NA (Not Applicable).
