Set Up the HR Approval Setup page
The overall behavior of HR Management approvals is set up on the HR Approval Setup page.
Document types
You can specify distinct approval processes for the following document types:
Absence Request
HR Request
Payout Request
Time Entry
This option only appears when the Sparkrock 365 Time Entry extension is installed.
Sequence of Approval for Time Entry and HR Request
When the Document Type is Time Entry or HR Request, the only Sequence of Approval option that is supported is Approval Rules.
Sequence of Approval for Absence Request or Payout Request
When the Document Type is Absence Request or Payout Request, in Sequence of Approval, you can specify the following options:
Approval Rules: The default sequence of approval behavior. Approval groups are based on the employee attendance plan lines.
Reports to Position: The one or more approvers hold the reports to position for the first assignment with rank 1. If there is no active employee on the reports to position, approval moves to the next reports to position.
If multiple employees are approvers based on the reports to position, all of these employees can approve and only one of them must provide their approval in order for the approval process to proceed. The one or more employee assignments and the one or more employee assignments for the reports to position must be active for the period of the absence request.
Reports to Position if No Rules: If there is no approval group code specified on the employee attendance plan line, the approval is routed to the reports to position.
Auto Approve Back Office Requests
You can set up requests that are submitted for approval in Sparkrock 365 to be automatically approved.

When on the HR Approval Setup page, Auto Approve Back Office Requests checkbox is selected, the Enabled checkbox is clear, and an absence request is created in mySparkrock, the following message appears in mySparkrock:
No approval workflow for this record type is enabled.
To set up automatic approval of back office requests for a document type
Choose , enter hr approval setup, and then choose the related link.
The HR Approval Setup page opens.
To specify for a specific document type, that requests which are submitted for approval in Sparkrock 365 are to be automatically approved, on the respective document type row, select the Auto Approve Back Office Requests checkbox.
Approval Background Processing
You can set up approval background processing for specific document types.
To set up approval background processing for a document type
Choose , enter hr approval setup, and then choose the related link.
The HR Approval Setup page opens.
To specify that approval background processing is to be performed for requests for a specific document type, on the respective document type row, select the Approval Background Processing checkbox.
Enabled
When the Enabled checkbox is selected, a request goes through an approval process for the specified document type. If your organization does not use approvals for a specific document type, clear the Enabled checkbox.
