Set Up Grievance Resolution Methods
When a grievance is filed, the grievance is tracked from the submission of the complaint to the successful resolution. When a resolution is reached, the details of the resolution must be recorded in accordance with the collective agreement and to use as reference for future situations.
Depending on the situation, the resolution may be achieved through internal or external methods. You must set up the possible resolution methods for both scenarios.
Internal grievance resolution methods
When a grievance is settled internally, the resolution method must be recorded in accordance with the collective agreement and for future reference in the event that a similar grievance is filed. Ideally, internal resolution is preferred, so it is important to track the success rate and resolution method of internal resolutions.
Internal grievance resolutions methods are recorded for the grievances that are filed by employees on the Grievance Card page, in the Internal Resolution Method field.
To set up internal grievance resolution methods
Choose , enter grievance internal resolution methods, and then choose the related link.
The Grievance Internal Resolution Methods page opens.
For each grievance internal resolution method to be set up, perform the following steps:
- On the action bar, choose New.
A new row appears. - In Code, specify a code to represent the grievance internal resolution method.
- In Name, specify a description of the grievance internal resolution method.
- On the action bar, choose New.
External grievance resolution methods
When a grievance is settled externally, the resolution steps must be recorded to track the external body’s process to ensure grievances are appropriately and effectively resolved.
External grievance resolutions methods are recorded for the grievances that are filed by employees on the Grievance Card page, in the External Resolution Method field.
To set up external grievance resolution methods
Choose , enter grievance external resolution methods, and then choose the related link.
The Grievance External Resolution Methods page opens.
For each grievance external resolution method to be set up, perform the following steps:
- On the action bar, choose New.
A new row appears. - In Code, specify a code to represent the grievance external resolution method.
- In Name, specify a description of the grievance external resolution method.
- On the action bar, choose New.
