Set Up Delayed Activation
Organizations may need to set up accruals to calculate and record. At the same time, until meeting a specified requirement, organizations may need to restrict employees and managers from viewing and consuming accruals in mySparkrock. Delayed activation provides the capability to record accruals while restricting viewing, consumption, or both.
To set up delayed activation
Choose , enter attendance plans, and then choose the related link.
The Attendance Plans page opens.
Select the attendance plan for which you want to set up delayed activation, and then on the action bar, choose Edit.
The Attendance Plan page opens.
In Delayed Activation Days, specify the number of working days that must pass since the accrual was granted without a non-personal absence for the employee to be able to view the accrual balance or consume from the accrual balance.
The following fields control whether the manager or employee are able to view or create entries against the specified causes of absence:
- Show Balances – Employee
- Create Entries – Employee
- Show Balances – Manager
- Create Entries – Manager
When delayed activation days are set up, the values for these fields are clear. When the attendance plan is subsequently attached to an employee, the value for these fields remain clear.
There are two distinct processes that can be used to automatically or manually select the checkboxes for the Show Balances – Employee, Create Entries – Employee, Show Balances – Manager, and Create Entries – Manager fields when the employee has satisfied the delayed activation days requirement. Typically, for performance purposes, the manual process is used during setup and configuration. After performance has been confirmed, you can schedule Sparkrock 365 to perform this process for all appropriate employees, such as on a nightly basis. Perform one of the following procedures:
