Set Up Attendance Plan Absence Sequencing
You can use sequencing when your organization has policies or agreements where certain absence accruals must be used before others. For example, if vacation carry over is to be consumed before vacation for the current year, you can set up sequencing so that the carry over vacation is consumed before the current year vacation. The sequencing can also include top up settings where accruals that may drive a pay reduction can be topped up by other accruals. This setup might be used, for example, when sick time with a pay reduction to 75% can be topped up with vacation time for full pay.
Important
Important:
Set up sequencing only on the main cause of absence entry type. Do not set up sequencing on every entry type. This cause of absence is specified on the mySparkrock Attendance and Requests page.
Note
Note:
If you set up sequencing for a cause of absence that has Prevent Negative Balancing turned off, the sequencing for this cause of absence is ignored.

Typically, the absence top up percentage is only used for sick leave where there is a pay reduction. On the line representing the reduced pay amount, specify the percent that is required to top up the amount. For example, if a short term sick leave is paid out at 75%, specify 25% as the cause of absence to top up the amount.
