Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) export administration
Sparkrock 365 provides the capability to produce the Ontario Municipal Employees' Retirement System (OMERS) e-Form 119 file. This export reports credited service, contributory earnings, RPP/RCA contributions, and pension adjustments for members. The data to be reported is presented to the user in a worksheet for review, and then exported to a file for submission to OMERS.
Employee benefits
Any employee that is part of the OMERS Retirement System must have an employee benefit entry with the benefit plan code that is being used for OMERS. The employee benefit record holds the employment status of the employee.
The employment status on the employee benefit determines whether the employee is reported as C, which represents continuous full time, or O, which represents other than continuous full time. An Employment Status of Full Time causes the employee to be reported as C and an Employment Status of Part Time causes the employee to be reported as O.
Note
Note:
If the Employment Status is blank for an OMERS employee, an error appears when populating the worksheet.
If the employee changed statuses in the middle of the reporting period, it is important to use an HR request to make the appropriate change to the employee assignment. During the HR request process, it is equally important to use the employee benefit section to also create an employee benefit entry with the same effective date as the HR request effective date. When the HR request is processed, the appropriate assignment changes are made and a new employee benefit entry is created for the employment status change.
When the employment status changes in the middle of a reporting period, two E lines are generated on the OMERS Worksheet page.
