Jet Reports integration
Sparkrock 365 integrates with Jet Reports to provide the capability for you to automate data preparation and create self-serve custom reports directly from Excel. You can drag and drop Sparkrock 365 data into Excel, and then build simple to advanced operational reports that can be refreshed real-time, on demand, with the press of a button. You can access, share, and organize reports on the web to have the accurate answers that you require from anywhere.
To integrate Sparkrock 365 with Jet Reports you must perform the following steps:
Install the Jet Reports extension.
Create a Jet Reports connection to Sparkrock 365.
To install the Jet Reports extension
Choose
, enter extension management, and then choose the related link.
The Extension Management page opens.
Select the Jet Library for Business Central extension, and then on the action bar, choose Manage > Install.
If you do not see the extension in the list, you may have to download the extension from Microsoft AppSource.
The Extension Installation page opens and displays the Install Extension subsection.
Choose Next.
The Extension Installation page refreshes and displays the Review Extension Information before installation subsection.
Turn on I accept the terms and conditions, and then choose Install.
Sparkrock 365 installs the extension.
Select the Jet Reports for Business Central extension, and then on the action bar, choose Manage > Install.
The Extension Installation page opens and displays the Install Extension subsection.
Choose Next.
The Extension Installation page refreshes and displays the Review Extension Information before installation subsection.
Turn on I accept the terms and conditions, and then choose Install.
Sparkrock 365 installs the extension.
To create a Jet Reports connection to Sparkrock 365
Open Excel.
On the Excel ribbon, choose Jet.
Choose Setting > Data Source Settings.
Choose Add.
The Add Data Source dialog box opens.
On the General tab, perform the following steps:
- In Name, specify a unique and descriptive name for your data source.
- In Database Type, specify the following:
Dynamics 365 Business Central - In Connection Method, specify the following:
Web Services - Public Cloud
Choose Add.
Select the account that you want to use to connect to your Sparkrock 365 data.
If prompted, provide the password.
After the connection is made, the specified user name is listed on the Authentication tab.
On the Web Service tab, perform the following steps:
- Select Use OData web services.
- In Server, specify sparkrock365.api.bc.dynamic.com.
- In Web service port, specify 443.
- In Instance, specify /v2/YourTenantID/EnvironmentName.
Replace YourTenantID with your tenant ID and replace EnvironmentName with your environment name. - In Jet Codeunit, specify JetDataSource.
- In Company, specify My Company.
On the Drilldown tab, perform the following steps:
- Select Use the web client.
- In Web server, specify sparkrock365.api.bc.dynamic.com.
- In Port, specify 443.
- In Web instance, specify your tenant ID.
- Select Use SSL Encryption.
- In Region Format, specify en-US.
On the Advanced tab, in Page size (MB), specify 10.
To test your connection to the database, choose Test Connection.
When the connection is successful, Excel displays the following message:
A connection to the database has successfully been established.
Choose OK.
To set this data source to be your primary data source, choose Set as Default.
Choose OK.
Your data source is ready for use in Jet Reports.
