Consume inventory for a purchase requisition

To reduce manual processing time, Sparkrock 365 includes the capability for you to consume inventory for lines on a purchase requisition. When you choose to consume inventory for the lines on a purchase requisition, Sparkrock 365 automatically transfers the lines on the purchase requisition to a specified template in the item journal. The lines that are transferred automatically have a negative adjustment.

Note:
You can only consume inventory for purchase requisitions that have item line types, for example, on the line, the value of Type must equal Item.

To consume inventory for a purchase requisition

  1. Choose Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature., enter purchase requisitions, and then choose the related link.

    The Purchase Requisitions page opens.

  2. Select the purchase requisition for which you want to consume inventory, and then on the action bar, choose Manage > Edit.

    The Purchase Requisition page opens.

  3. On the Lines FastTab, for any line that is to have inventory consumed, ensure that the value of Line Action is set to Consume Inventory.

  4. On the action bar, choose Home > Consume Inventory.

    One or more lines are transferred automatically to the item journal.

    The Status of the purchase requisition changes to In-Progress and on the one or more lines, the Purchase Status changes to Inv. Transferred.

    A dialog box appears and displays text that asks whether you want to replace the existing lines in the item journal.

  5. To replace the lines choose Yes. Otherwise, to append the lines, choose No.

    A dialog box appears and displays the following text:

    Item Journal Line(s) have been created. Do you want to view them?

  6. To view the one or more item journal lines that were created, choose Yes.

    The Item Journals page opens.

  7. Review and update fields as required.

  8. To post the item journal, on the action bar, choose Post.

    The Status of the purchase requisition changes to Completed and on the one or more lines of the purchase requisition, the Purchase Status changes to Completed.
