Assign benefit plans from a benefit group to an employee
Sparkrock 365 provides the capability for you to manually or automatically assign benefit plans from a benefit group to an employee. When you automatically assign benefit plans from a benefit group to an employee, employee benefit lines are updated with the benefit plans that are set up for the respective benefit group.
Depending on the situation, you can automatically assign benefit plans from a benefit group to an employee from the following locations:
The Benefit Groups page
The Employee Benefits page
Typically, this method is used in situations where benefit groups are assigned after the new hire process has completed.
Specific HR requests
You can only create employee benefits from HR requests where the respective reason code has one of the following process types:
- Hire
- Rehire
- Additional assignment
- Transfer
- Details change
- Leave
- Termination
The benefit plans are not assigned until the HR request is processed.
To assign benefit plans from a benefit group to an employee from the Benefit Groups page
Choose , enter benefit groups, and then choose the related link.
The Benefit Groups page opens.
Select the benefit group for which you want to assign benefit plans to an employee, and then on the action bar, choose Create Employee Benefits.
The Create Employee Benefits page opens.
Specify values as required, and then choose OK.
To assign benefit plans from a benefit group to an employee from the Employee Benefits page
Choose , enter employees, and then choose the related link.
The Employees page opens.
Select the employee to which you want to assign benefit plans from a benefit group, and then on the action bar, choose Related > Human Resources > Employee Benefits.
The Employee Benefits page opens.
On the action bar, choose Home > Create Employee Benefits.
The Create Employee Benefits page opens.
Specify values as required, and then choose OK.
To assign benefit plans from a benefit group to an employee from an HR request
Choose , enter hr requests, and then choose the related link.
The HR Requests page opens.
Select the HR request from which you want to assign benefit plans from a benefit group to an employee, and then on the action bar, choose Home > Details.
The respective details page opens based on the HR reason code that is assigned to the HR request.
On the Employee Benefits FastTab, on the action bar, choose Manage > Create Hr Req. Employee Benefits.
The Create HR Request Employee Benefits page opens.
Specify values as required, and then choose OK.
