Update Seniority Details on Employee Assignments
If you do not use the Sparkrock 365 employee experience functionality, but you still want to track seniority details for an employee, you can specify seniority details on an HR employee assignment. For example, to decide which employees have scheduling priority, you may want to track an employee's seniority date and their seniority hours or days. The employee with the oldest seniority date or who has worked the most seniority hours or days may be the first to be offered a shift.
Periodically, you may have to update seniority details on an HR employee assignment. The following list describes some examples of when you may want to update seniority details:
When an employee takes a leave.
When you process details change or transfer HR requests, the values for Seniority Hours / Days are maintained and continue to increment through the posting of every payroll journal.
When an employee leaves an organization and you rehire them, by default the the values for Seniority Hours / Days are maintained from their prior service. If you don't count prior service, you can update the value of Seniority Hours / Days to be zero, so that the seniority hours or days start to increment from zero.
These types of changes do not require an HR request to be processed. The change can be performed manually.
