Run a compensation journal test report
Sparkrock 365 provides the capability for you to print or preview payroll data before sending the data to an external payroll provider and posting the journal. The Test report displays batch, HR pay Cycle, employee, assignment, HR pay code, hours, amount, and additional payroll information. Every line that is included in the specified compensation journal is displayed in the report. Also, when running the report, you can specify that the report display summary, warnings, errors, and general ledger account allocation information.
To run a compensation journal test report
Choose , enter compensation journal, and then choose the related link.
If more than one compensation journal template exists in your environment, the Compensation Journal Templates page displays. You must select a template, and then choose OK.
The Compensation Journal page opens.
In Batch Name, specify the batch that is to be used for this compensation journal.
The page refreshes and displays data based on the batch name that you specified.
In Pay Cycle Period, specify the Pay Cycle Period that is to be used for this compensation journal.
The page refreshes and displays data based on the pay cycle period that you specified.
On the action bar, choose Actions > Test Report.
The Compensation Journal – Test page opens.
On the Options FastTab, perform the following steps:
- To specify that you want to include a summary of HR pay codes at the end of the report, turn on Show Pay Code Summary.
- To specify that you want to include a summary of the general ledger allocations at the end of the report, turn on Show Allocation Summary.
- To specify that you want to include a summary by employee of deferred salary at the end of the report, turn on Show Salary Deferral Summary.
- To specify that you want to include information about warnings for compensation journal lines, turn on Show Warnings.
- To specify that you want to include information about errors for compensation journal lines, turn on Show Errors.
- To specify that you want to include the G/L Allocations for each line reported, turn on Show Allocations.
On the Filter: Compensation Journal Line FastTab, specify filters to define the journal data that you want to view.
The default values for this FastTab are populated based on the compensation journal from which you opened the Test report.
On the Filter: Integer FastTab, specify additional filters as required.
On the Filter: Compensation Line Allocation FastTab, specify additional filters as required.
To view the report output choose Send To, Print, or Preview.
