Create a Compensation Journal Batch
Compensation journal batches provide a way for you to process your earnings data in groups. For example, to process earnings data for different groups of employees into different batches you may want to create Admin Staff, Support Staff, Salary, and Hourly batches.
Compensation journal batches can be associated with one or more payroll batches for calculation purposes.
Compensation journal batches can be created from the Compensation Journal Templates page or from the Compensation Journals page.
To create a compensation journal batch from the Compensation Journal Templates page
Choose , enter compensation journal templates, and then choose the related link.
The Compensation Journal Templates page opens.
On the action bar, choose Batches.
The Compensation Journal Batches page opens.
On the action bar, choose New.
A new row appears.
In Name, specify a name for the journal that you are creating.
In Description, specify a description for the journal batch that you are creating.
As required, set filters for the remaining fields, for example, specify an HR Company Code, HR Pay Cycle Code, and so on.
Depending on how your data is setup, you may have to specify an HR Department Code and HR Category Code. The HR Department Code and HR Category Code are specified on an employee’s position and assignment. When records are loaded into a payroll batch, this employee setup determines how records are filtered.
To create a compensation journal batch from the Compensation Journals page
Choose , enter compensation journal, and then choose the related link.
If more than one compensation journal template exists in your environment, the Compensation Journal Templates page displays. You must select a template, and then choose OK.
The Compensation Journal page opens.
In Batch Name, choose .
The Compensation Journal Batches page opens.
On the action bar, choose New.
A new row appears.
In Name, specify a name for the journal that you are creating.
In Description, specify a description for the journal batch that you are creating.
As required, set filters for the remaining fields, for example, specify an HR Company Code, HR Pay Cycle Code, and so on.
