Set up a tax jurisdiction

A sales tax jurisdiction is based on a particular geographic location. A tax area consists of several sales tax jurisdictions. For example, the tax area for Miami, Florida, includes the following sales tax jurisdictions:

  • city (Miami)
  • county (Dade)
  • state (Florida)

To set up a tax jurisdiction

  1. Choose Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature., enter tax jurisdictions, and then choose the related link.

    The Tax Jurisdictions page opens.

  2. For each tax jurisdiction that you want to set up, perform the following steps:

    1. On the action bar, choose New. A new row appears.
    2. Specify values for fields as required.
