    Set up the Ontario Municipal Employees' Retirement System (OMERS) export

    Sparkrock 365 provides the capability to produce the Ontario Municipal Employees' Retirement System (OMERS) e-Form 119 file. This export reports credited service, contributory earnings, RPP/RCA contributions, and pension adjustments for members. The data to be reported is presented to the user in a worksheet for review, and then exported to a file for submission to OMERS.

    Any employee to be reported to OMERS must have an employee benefit entry with the benefit plan code for OMERS. The employee benefit record holds the employment status of the employee.

    Set up the HR Integration Setup page

    Before using the OMERS worksheet, you must perform some set up on the HR Integration Setup page, on the ON-OMERS FastTab.

    Choose Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature., enter hr integration setup, and then choose the related link.

    The following table includes information about the fields on the HR Integration Setup page, on the ON-OMERS FastTab.

    Field Description
    Benefit Plan Code Specifies the benefit code from the list for OMERS. It is expected that any employee to be reported to OMERS have this benefit plan code in their employee benefits list.
    Normal Retirement Age Specifies the normal retirement age for OMERS members.
    NRA Effective from Date (Optional) This date records when the normal retirement age value has been changed.
    HR Deduction Codes Specifies the employee deductions to be used when determining the contribution amount. The one or more codes specified here act as a default when the Load Lines action is chosen on the OMERS Worksheet page. To determine contribution earnings, related HR pay codes must be defined for each HR deduction code that is listed.
    It is recommended that the HR deduction codes that are specified have the related HR pay code populated. Also, at least one related HR pay code record must have the Enabled checkbox selected to get OMERS reporting information. Otherwise, an error appears on the OMERS Worksheet page.
    Pension Adj. HR Deduction Codes Specifies the pension adjustment HR deduction codes. When the Load Lines action is chosen on the OMERS Worksheet page, the Pension Adjustment (PA) column reports the amounts that are associated with the specified HR deduction codes for the reporting period.

    For the one or more employee deduction codes, the related HR pay codes must be set up so that Sparkrock 365 knows which earnings pay codes to use. It is recommended that this setup match the selected pay codes that are used by the process procedure that performs the employee deduction calculation.

    The following table includes a sample related HR pay code setup for the employee contribution deduction.
