Set up HR pay codes for expense posting to the general ledger

For all HR pay codes, it is recommended that you set up a mapping on each HR pay code to be used for the expense entry. This setup effects the debit side of the posting only.

The account set to be used for the expense entry comes from the employee allocation on the one or more assignments that are being paid. Use the deduction mapping functionality to change parts or all of the positions in the account set for the expense posting.

To set up HR pay codes for expense posting to the general ledger

  1. Choose Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature., enter hr pay codes, and then choose the related link.

  2. For each HR pay code that you want to set up a mapping, perform the following steps:

    1. Select the HR pay code, and then on the action bar, choose Related > Dimension Mapping.
      The Dimension Mapping page opens.
    2. In Criteria Type, specify the from dimension.
    3. In Criteria Filter, specify a filter or a specific value.
      A * indicates all values.
    4. In Result Type, specify the to dimension.
    5. In Result Value, specify the value that is to be applied during posting of the compensation journal.

Copy HR pay code dimension mappings to one or more HR pay codes

When you are setting up dimension mapping for HR pay codes, to save time, you can copy the HR pay code dimension mappings from one HR pay code to one or more other HR pay codes.

To copy HR pay code dimension mappings to one or more HR pay codes

  1. Choose Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature., enter hr pay codes, and then choose the related link.

  2. Select the HR pay code for which you want to copy the dimension mapping to one or more other HR pay codes, and then on the action bar, choose Related > Dimension Mapping.

    The Dimension Mappings page opens.

  3. Select the mapping that you want to copy to another HR pay code, and then on the action bar, choose Actions > Copy Current Dimension Mappings.

  4. In HR Pay Code Filter, specify the one or more HR pay codes to which you want to copy the dimension mappings.

  5. (Optional) To delete existing dimension mappings for the specified HR pay codes, turn on Delete existing Dimension Mappings

  6. Choose OK.

    Sparkrock 365 copies the dimension mappings from the source HR pay codes to the HR pay codes that you specified.
