    Set up causes of inactivity

    On the Causes of Inactivity page, you can set up causes of inactivity codes for your employees. These codes can then be used for tracking various reasons that cause employee inactiveness. Typically, this information appears on the grounds for termination. Examples include:

    • Retirement

    • Long-term illness

    • Leave, such as maternity, parental, and compassionate care

    After you set up the codes, you can assign the codes to employees on their employee cards.

    To create causes of inactivity

    1. Choose Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature., enter causes of inactivity, and then choose the related link.

      The Causes of Inactivity page opens.

    2. On the action bar, choose New.

      A new row appears.

    3. In Code, specify a code to represent the cause of inactivity.

    4. In Description, specify a description for the cause of inactivity.

    5. In mySparkrock Caption, specify the caption that you want to appear in mySparkrock.

      If there are leave inactivity reasons that are subject to privacy, you can set the value to be something generic, for example, On Leave.

    To assign causes of inactivity to an employee

    1. Choose Lightbulb that opens the Tell Me feature., enter employees, and then choose the related link.

      The Employees page opens.

    2. Select the employee for which you want to assign a cause of inactivity, and then on the action bar, choose Manage > Edit.

      The Employee Card page opens.

    3. On the Administration FastTab, in the Cause of Inactivity Code field, specify the code that represents that represents the cause of inactivity that you want to assign.
